A little preparation helps your first cleaning visit go the way you expect. Most of it is simple: clear the way, share the right details, and tell us what matters most to you. Here is what to do before, during, and after the visit.
When you request a quote
Preparation starts before the appointment. When you fill out the quote form, share your location, property type, number of bedrooms and bathrooms or approximate square footage, the service you want, your preferred date, and any priority areas. The more detail you provide, the more accurately we can recommend the right scope.
If you are not sure which service to book, start here: standard cleaning is designed for routine upkeep in a home that is already in maintained condition. If it has been a while since your last professional clean, deep cleaning is usually the better starting point. Our guide to standard versus deep cleaning walks through the difference.
Share priorities and special requests
If there is a room you care about most, a surface that needs special care, or a request such as inside appliances or interior cabinets, mention it before the appointment. We will confirm what is available, whether additional time is needed, and any added cost before the service.
The day before
- Put away personal items, important documents, and fragile valuables so the team can focus on cleaning.
- Clear everyday clutter from counters, tables, and floors where you can. Clear surfaces are easier to clean thoroughly.
- Leave clean linens out on any beds you would like made.
- Make a note of delicate surfaces, such as natural stone or unsealed wood, and tell us about them in advance.
- Decide where pets will be during the visit, and secure them if needed.
Access and entry
You do not need to be home during the cleaning. You may be home, or you can arrange secure access in advance. Either way, make sure we have clear entry instructions and a way to reach you if a question comes up.
If you live in an apartment or condo building, include your unit number in the entry instructions and tell us about anything that affects getting in, such as front-desk registration, parking or loading rules, a certificate-of-insurance requirement, or other building-management requirements.
Supplies and products
You do not need to buy or set out supplies. Our team arrives with the standard products and equipment needed for your service. If you prefer a specific product, tell us before the appointment so we can plan accordingly.
Eco-friendly products are part of the Craft Cleaners Chicago service approach. If anyone in the home has a product sensitivity, allergy, or special concern, share that before the visit so we can discuss the available options.
After the visit
Take a walk through the home once the cleaning is done. Your satisfaction matters to us. If something does not meet the agreed scope, contact us as soon as possible after your service and include the details. We will review the concern and explain the next step under our satisfaction guarantee.
Good to know: Craft Cleaners Chicago is insured. We treat every home with care and respect.
