If you are budgeting for house cleaning in Chicago, the first thing you probably want is a starting number. Below are the base rates shown on our website, the factors that change the final price, and what to include in a quote request so the quote reflects your home.
Base rates by home size
These are the base rates shown on the Craft Cleaners Chicago website:
| Home size | One-time | Biweekly | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Studio | $160 | $140 | $130 |
| 1 bedroom | $180 | $150 | $140 |
| 2 bedrooms | $220 | $200 | $190 |
| 3 bedrooms | $300 | $250 | $220 |
The prices shown on our website are base rates. Pricing depends on the size of the home, service type, frequency, condition, and any add-ons or special requests. We will confirm the scope and quote before service.
The same table appears on our pricing page.
What changes the price
A base rate is a starting point. Five things shape the final quote:
- Size of the home. More rooms mean more floors, surfaces, and fixtures to clean, which is why the rates are listed by home size.
- Service type. Standard house cleaning, deep cleaning, and move-in or move-out cleaning each cover a different set of tasks.
- Frequency. You can book a one-time visit or set up recurring biweekly or monthly service. The table shows a base rate for each.
- Condition. A home that has not been cleaned in a while usually needs more detailed work than one that is kept up on a regular schedule.
- Add-ons and special requests. You can ask for priority rooms, inside appliances, interior cabinets, or other requests. We will confirm what is available, whether additional time is needed, and any added cost before the service.
Services we quote after you describe the space
Some jobs depend too much on the details to price from a table. Deep cleaning, move-in and move-out cleaning, larger homes, and commercial cleaning are quoted after you tell us about the space.
- Deep cleaning in Chicago includes everything in a standard clean, plus detailed work on trim, doors, baseboards, reachable fixtures, and heavier kitchen and bathroom buildup.
- Move-in and move-out cleaning covers bathrooms, counters, cabinet fronts, shelves, drawers, appliances, and floors when you are leaving a home or getting a new one ready.
- Commercial cleaning plans can account for square footage, business hours and access, daily traffic, and priority rooms.
What a standard clean includes
When you compare prices from different companies, compare the scope as well as the number. Our standard house cleaning includes:
- Dust reachable surfaces and furniture
- Wipe counters and exterior surfaces
- Clean sinks, faucets, showers, tubs, and toilets
- Clean appliance exteriors and stovetop
- Vacuum rugs and accessible floors
- Mop hard floors
- Empty household trash
- Make beds with linens left out
Standard cleaning is designed for routine upkeep in a home that is already in maintained condition. If it has been a while since your last professional clean, deep cleaning is usually the better starting point. Our guide to standard versus deep cleaning explains how to tell which one your home needs.
