Apartment cleaning usually means one of three services, depending on whether you want routine upkeep, need a more detailed reset, or are moving in or out. Here is what each one includes at Craft Cleaners Chicago, and the building details to share so we can plan the visit.
Routine upkeep: standard cleaning
For an apartment or condo that is already in maintained condition, standard house cleaning covers the everyday work:
- Dust reachable surfaces and furniture
- Wipe counters and exterior surfaces
- Clean sinks, faucets, showers, tubs, and toilets
- Clean appliance exteriors and stovetop
- Vacuum rugs and accessible floors
- Mop hard floors
- Empty household trash
- Make beds with linens left out
You can book it as a one-time visit or as recurring biweekly or monthly service.
A more detailed reset: deep cleaning
If the kitchen has grease on the backsplash, the shower has soap residue, or it has simply been a while, deep cleaning includes everything in a standard clean, plus:
- Detailed dusting of reachable trim, doors, and baseboards
- Clean reachable vents, fans, and light fixtures
- Remove heavier kitchen and bathroom buildup
- Clean cabinet fronts and handles
- Detail appliance exteriors and backsplash
- Address corners, edges, and overlooked surfaces
- Clean interior windows and sills where safely accessible
Moving in or out: move-in and move-out cleaning
When you are leaving a unit or getting a new one ready, move-in and move-out cleaning includes:
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms
- Wipe counters, cabinet fronts, shelves, and drawers
- Clean appliance exteriors and accessible interiors
- Clean sinks, faucets, stovetop, and backsplash
- Dust reachable trim, doors, baseboards, and fixtures
- Vacuum and mop accessible floors
- Clean interior windows and sills where safely accessible
- Remove light household trash left for disposal
Cleaning can support a smooth handoff, but no cleaning company can promise the return of a security deposit. The final decision belongs to the landlord or property manager. For a room-by-room list, see our move-out cleaning checklist.
Add-ons and priority areas
If you want inside appliances, interior cabinets, or extra attention on a particular room, mention it when you request a quote. We will confirm what is available, whether additional time is needed, and any added cost before the service.
Building details to share
Apartment and condo buildings often have their own rules. When you request a quote, tell us about any of these that apply:
- Your unit number
- The number of bedrooms and bathrooms
- Entry instructions
- Front-desk registration
- Elevator reservations
- Parking and loading rules
- Building move hours, if you are moving
- Certificate-of-insurance requirements
- Any other building-management requirements
The earlier we know about these, the easier it is to plan the visit around your building.
Supplies and products
You do not need to provide cleaning supplies. Our team arrives with the standard products and equipment needed for your service. Eco-friendly products are part of the Craft Cleaners Chicago service approach. If you prefer a specific product, have a sensitive surface, or anyone in the home has a product sensitivity or allergy, tell us before the visit so we can plan accordingly.
Pricing and service area
Our pricing page lists base rates for studios through three-bedroom homes, for one-time, biweekly, and monthly service. Pricing depends on the size of the home, service type, frequency, condition, and any add-ons or special requests, and we will confirm the scope and quote before service. Deep cleaning and move-in or move-out cleaning are quoted after you describe the space.
We serve Chicago neighborhoods and listed Chicagoland suburbs. In the South Loop, coverage is north of Roosevelt Road only. In Evanston, coverage is limited to the north/lakefront area. See the full list of service areas, or send your address through the quote form to confirm availability.
